Each cottage has its own parking in front of or right next to the cottage. • Will I need 4-wheel drive to get to my cottage? No. • Are any of the cottages in a private, isolated area? No. The Pines Cottages is in a pleasantly rural area, but have other cottages nearby. We are also bordered by two roads so we have some road noise. If you are sensitive to noise please ask us which cottages would be best for you. • Are the cottages air-conditioned? Cottages #1, #4, #10 and #13 have air. Our rooms are intentionally phone-free, and we encourage you to resist the temptation to check your voice mail and just enjoy your hard-earned vacation! • Is there a washer and dryer? No, there is a Laundromat in Weaverville about 3 miles away. • How many people do the cottages sleep? Our cottages sleep from 2 to 8 depending on the cottage. More with cots and roll away beds. • Is there a minimum night stay? We take one night stays during the week 2 night minimum stays on the weekend and 3 night minimum on holiday weekends. • Is there a fee for more than the allotted occupancy? Yes, $10.00 per person per night. • Do we need to bring towels and linens? No, all linens and towels are provided. • Do you have a port-a-crib or high chair? Yes. • What type of heat do the cottages have? All of the cottages have natural gas heat and some of the cottages have a fireplace also. • Do you have to buy firewood? No, we provide firewood at no charge. Not available June- September. • Is there cable? Yes. • Is there a DVD or VCR in the cottages? No, but the TV’S are equipped to hook one up if you bring your own. • Do the Cottages have Internet connection? Yes, Wireless is provided for your convenience. • Is smoking allowed inside? No, please smoke outside if you have to. • Is the kitchen equipped? Yes, all pots, pans & dishes are provided and need to be washed and put away before departure. There is a refrigerator, stove with an oven, coffeemaker and toaster in the kitchens. There are several charcoal grills on the property for our guests use. You will need to bring paper towels and napkins. • Are any food items provided? No. There is a grocery store 1 mile away. • Is there Dining nearby? There are plenty of places to eat in the area with a variety of menu offerings, and virtually all are locally owned and operated businesses, not fast food chains. There are very informal family places where you can either eat inside, or on an open porch. • Is there any nightlife in the area? Yes, there is a small pond with frogs and goldfish. • Is there a hot tub on the property? No, but there are several in the area. • Is there a pool on the property? No, there are no wheelchairs ramps etc. Regarding the number of steps to enter, some cottages are more wheel chair friendly than others please ask about specifics. Most cottages have only one step into the front door. • What items can be recycled? #1 & 2 plastics only, all aluminum & tin cans, glass, all mixed paper and cardboard.
